Keen to try making your own bath salts?
Heres a simple bath salt recipe using ingredients commonly found around the house.

2/3 cup Epsom salts

1/3 cup Himalayan pink rock salt 

1tsp Olive oil 

1ml (20 drops) essential oil

1/4 cup dried flowers (these can be from your garden)

Glass jars 

Some of these ingredients are interchangeable.

  • Himalayan pink rock salt can be changed for Epsom salt or Sea salt if required
  • Olive oil can be changed for any kitchen oil you have available 


  1. Combine all dry ingredients well in a bowl. It is a good idea to crumble the dried flowers in your hand before adding to the mixture)
  2. In a seperate bowl combine your oil of choice and your essential oil. Make sure to stir this well to completely combine the oils together.
  3. Mix wet and dry ingredients together well then distribute into your jars store in a cool dry place. 
  4. When ready to use pour about 1/4 - 1/2 cup into warm running water and enjoy.
