Safety Guidelines for Using Soy Wax Melts & Candles

To ensure you enjoy your soy wax melts and candles safely, please follow these simple guidelines.

When using wax melts, always use them in an appropriate wax warmer or oil burner specifically designed for this purpose. Never add water to your warmer while using wax melts. Do not leave your wax warmer unattended while it is on. Always keep it away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Place your warmer on a stable, heat-resistant surface and turn it off or extinguish any tea light burners before leaving the room or going to sleep. Allow both the wax and the warmer to cool completely before handling or cleaning, and avoid moving your burner while the wax is still hot or melted.

For candles, never leave them burning unattended. Always burn candles within sight and keep them away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets. Trim candle wicks to 5mm before each use to prevent excessive flame or soot. On the first burn, allow the candle to create a full melt pool — this means letting the melted wax reach the edges of the container — to help avoid tunneling. Never burn a candle for longer than four hours at a time. Stop using the candle when there is approximately one centimeter of wax remaining to prevent overheating the container. Always use a heat-resistant surface beneath your candles and avoid placing them near anything that could catch fire. Keep them out of reach of children and pets, and never move a burning candle or one with hot, liquid wax.
